Mocktails, lemonades, tea and coffee: the Moon Lounge drinks guide
From Tropical Blue Moon to shu puer in a pot — what to drink at Moon Lounge, what to share and what goes best with sushi.
The drinks list at Moon Lounge is almost as long as the food menu, and it's easy to get lost in. Here's a quick map, from house mocktails to Chinese tea.
House mocktails
There are four, and each has its own character. Tropical Blue Moon is bright blue and tropical, with a dried citrus wheel. Moon Red Light is red berries and citrus under a silky foam. Lemongrass is cool and fresh, with a stalk of lemongrass. Ginger is crisp, spicy and lightly sparkling, with a vivid pink colour. A good first order on a warm evening.
Lemonades by the glass or the jug
Citrus passion fruit, raspberry tropical, strawberry breeze, cucumber basil, mixed berry punch and tropical lychee. The first three also come in 1-litre jugs — the easiest way to keep a big table happy.
Fresh juices and coconut
Freshly pressed orange, watermelon and pineapple juice, plus dragon fruit. On a hot day, a young coconut served in its shell is hard to beat.
Coffee and matcha
All the classics are here — espresso, long black, cappuccino, flat white and latte — along with raf, a creamy coffee born in Moscow. Try the iced versions too: iced long black, hazelnut iced latte and orange coffee, where espresso meets fresh orange juice. For matcha, there's the original latte, an iced almond-milk version and a bright orange matcha. And keep an eye on the limited editions, like Sakura Cloud Coffee with sakura syrup and rosemary.
Tea: time to slow down
Tea is our quiet pride. The signature list: Bali Tropical with mango, Citrus with lemon, lime and orange, Ginger, spiced Indian Masala and tangy, ruby-red Hibiscus Rosella. For something more serious, there's Chinese tea — Da Hong Pao, Milk Oolong, Oolong and earthy Shu Puer, brewed in a pot. The classic list covers white peony, sencha, Royal Earl Grey, green oolong, masala oolong, ginger honey, cranberry and mango teas.
Mors, sodas and water
Mors — a traditional chilled berry drink — comes in 1-litre jugs: cranberry-cinnamon or raspberry-lavender. There's also Coca-Cola, Sprite, Schweppes, Red Bull, Polaris soda, Borjomi mineral water, and still or sparkling water.
What goes with what
- Sushi and rolls — iced matcha, sencha or a citrus lemonade.
- Burger and fries — a jug of lemonade or a classic cola.
- Dessert — a long black, a flat white or a pot of Indian Masala.
- Late evening — Hibiscus Rosella: it's a herbal infusion, not tea leaves.
